Brief

The clients wished to incorporate an access roadway at the side of the house into their plot. The requirement was to obtain planning permission to extend the house adding a garage, larger living room and new bedroom and bathroom over.

Outcome
The house was remodelled inside and the services and utility room area upgraded. Due to the slope of the street a retaining wall had to be formed to create the level space at the side. The new deep foundations were lower than the neighbours’ house footings so a party wall award was agreed with the neighbour. New patios and pond were added to the rear and landscaping carried out.
